7/10 Petition to Biden & U.S. Congress

In the past 4 days, Israel has bombed 4 schools, and forced 3 hospitals in northern Gaza to completely shut down due to their widespread assault. Today, 7/10, Israel has also committed another series of refugee camp massacres – literally setting tents housing displaced people ablaze. This time, it was the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza and the Nuseirat refugee camp. The Al-Mabhouh family lost 4 children today – one clearly being an infant. Their bodies are charred. Which refugee camps will it be tomorrow? How much longer will you do nothing as these crimes against humanity are committed?

Even France, Egypt, and Jordan have come out today condemning Israel’s recent mass atrocities. France’s Foreign Ministry called the school bombardments “unacceptable”. Jordan’s Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry said in a joint news conference today that Israel has crossed their red line. UNRWA’s chief Philippe Lazzarini reiterated his call for an immediate ceasefire saying, “the blatant disregard of international humanitarian law cannot become the new normal.” I, and so many other Americans wholeheartedly agree.

Even as much as this administration and Israel has tried and failed to demonize reputable international organizations, especially UNRWA, they have ceaselessly continued in efforts to save lives and end this genocide. I know many in this administration will see UNRWA and try to immediately discount anything said. Philippe Lazzarini is a Swiss-Italian national with a lifetime career in humanitarian organizations. He has said repeatedly Israel’s war is a war against children. I’d wager the Al-Mabhouh family feels similarly.

I demand that you: 

– Hold Israel accountable for a permanent, immediate ceasefire, their violations of the Genocide Convention, and gross human rights violations by any means necessary

– Call for the immediate end of Israel’s occupation and apartheid and support Palestinians in their fight for freedom and peace

– Secure the immediate release and safety of all Palestinians who have been abducted and held captive by Israel, including those whose indefinite detention began prior to 10/7

– Permanently end all monetary, diplomatic, and military aid given to Israel and enforce Leahy Law

– Reallocate all funds given to Israel and commit additional resources for ongoing humanitarian relief for Palestinians starting with immediately resuming funding of UNRWA

– Immediately withdraw all U.S. troops, military assets, and all other assets deployed throughout the Middle East and cease all actions that further escalate a larger regional conflict

– Pass legislation that voids all anti-BDS laws at the federal level

– Vote no on H.R. 7521 and any similar legislation proposed

While Telegram channels on their own are not necessarily credible news reporting, I have found the work Praxis Redacted has done consolidating both official news sources and unofficial citizen reporting (before it becomes breaking news) to be credible, accurate, and substantiated hours or sometimes days later by mainstream news.

Since mid-October when I began following the news about the genocide (and Praxis Redacted), I have not found an incident where sources cited or descriptions used were later proved to be false. I have every reason to believe the events cited below are true.

All of the same disclaimers apply for content warnings and my belief in the credibility of the channels cited.
