    4/19 Petition to Biden & U.S. Congress

The recent violence that Columbia University has demonstrated against lawful, peaceful protests by their students is beyond disturbing. This is the same university, however, that did nothing after students were attacked with chemical weapons at a peaceful protest by other students who were former Israeli military forces. I have seen this administration immediately, and rightfully condemn, real antisemitism. I have never, however, found that you have done anything regarding the ongoing violence against those protesting Islamophobia and Israel’s genocide in Gaza. I am requesting you investigate Columbia University’s violence immediately. The NYPD reported that there were no clear and present dangers as they were told by the university president who had requested their presence. Hundreds of students were suspended and then mass arrested for “trespassing”.

Columbia University students not only have every right to peacefully protest, they are doing so because Israel’s horrors have not stopped. Earlier today, 4/19, Israeli forces attacked a worshipper headed to Al-Aqsa mosque for prayer. Only a couple days ago, 11 children were murdered by Israel from a targeted drone strike at playground in Al-Maghazi refugee camp. These horrific acts are only a small look at the recent events that have been unfolding. Americans have the constitutional right to free speech and protest and beyond that, it is a moral obligation to peacefully protest a genocide.

    I demand that you:

    – Hold Israel accountable for a permanent, immediate ceasefire, their violations of the Genocide Convention, and gross human rights violations by any means necessary

    – Call for the immediate end of Israel’s occupation and apartheid and support Palestinians in their fight for freedom and peace

    – Secure the immediate release and safety of all Palestinians who have been abducted and held captive by Israel, including those whose indefinite detention began prior to 10/7

    – Permanently end all monetary, diplomatic, and military aid given to Israel and enforce Leahy Law

    – Reallocate all funds given to Israel and commit additional resources for ongoing humanitarian relief for Palestinians starting with immediately resuming funding of UNRWA

    – Immediately withdraw all U.S. troops, military assets, and all other assets deployed throughout the Middle East and cease all actions that further escalate a larger regional conflict

    – Pass legislation that voids all anti-BDS laws at the federal level

    – Vote no on H.R. 7521 and any similar legislation proposed

    !! CONTENT WARNING !!

Telegram* sources may contain graphic content, viewer discretion is advised.

*Why are you citing reports shared on Telegram?

While Telegram channels on their own are not necessarily credible news reporting, I have found the work Praxis Redacted has done consolidating both official news sources and unofficial citizen reporting (before it becomes breaking news) to be credible, accurate, and substantiated hours or sometimes days later by mainstream news.

Since mid-October when I began following the news about the genocide (and Praxis Redacted), I have not found an incident where sources cited or descriptions used were later proved to be false. I have every reason to believe the events cited below are true.

Most Telegram posts I link will be from Praxis Redacted, but those that are not will be labeled. All of the same disclaimers apply for content warnings and my belief in the credibility of the channels cited. This is a saved text template used across posts, it’s possible no sources outside of Praxis Redacted will be used or that only other channels are cited in this petition. It is also possible that other social media posts will be cited from other platforms, and if so, they will be noted.

    1/23 Petition to Biden & U.S. Congress

On 1/22/24 two former Israeli soldiers attacked a peaceful protest advocating for a ceasefire in Gaza on Columbia University’s campus with an illegal chemical weapon. Multiple students have had to seek medical treatment. The anti-Arab and Islamophobic rhetoric of our government has emboldened terrorist extremists actions against not just Palestinians abroad or in Palestinians in America, but any American who supports Palestinians. I am beyond disgusted, and horrified at your lack of attention to or care for what is happening to Palestinians and those advocating for their human rights.

The two terrorists have yet to be apprehended. I am terrified of the 10,000+ dual citizens who were drafted by Israel to fight in their genocidal ethnic cleansing campaign coming back to America. What repercussions will those who physically participated in this genocide face? How can we feel safe in our communities knowing that they will be allowed to return to America after their participation in war crimes?

    I demand that you:

    – Call for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, the West Bank, and all areas the Israeli military is murdering or otherwise violating the human rights of Palestinians

    – Call for the immediate end of genocide, apartheid, and occupation, and support Palestinians in their fight for freedom, peace, and their human rights

    – Call for the immediate release of Palestinian “prisoners” (hostages) held captive in Israeli military prisons

    – Permanently end all monetary and military aid given to Israel by correcting our budget and enforcing Leahy Law

    – Reallocate all funds given to Israel to ongoing humanitarian relief for Palestinians to help them rebuild, care for the sick & injured, bury the dead with dignity, and ensure all of their basic needs are taken care of

    – Repeal all federal anti-BDS laws and pass legislation that voids all state-level anti-BDS laws

    – Restore my right to free speech and the freedom of the press by condemning all discrimination or harassment for criticizing any government or political ideology (including zionism) and by doing everything possible to prevent future assaults to my rights, including governmental control and/or censorship of the Internet

    – Stop the militarization of our police by ending all cross-training done with the Israeli military, ceasing the construction of the Atlanta Public Safety Training Center, and all other ways this is accomplished

    – Pass legislation that prohibits any governmental action that would target any ethnic, religious, or other minority group (including Palestinians), either in the U.S. or abroad, by restricting humanitarian or financial aid, infringing on their human rights, or other actions that would otherwise bring harm or cause undue burdens on said groups
