5/9 Petition to Biden & U.S. Congress

Earlier today, Israeli forces abducted a child, Rayan Hussam Shteiwi, after violently raiding his family’s home in Qalqilya, West Bank. Rayan is, again, a CHILD. I am so scared for him. Save The Children’s 2023 report on the horrifying conditions the children Israel abducts and holds captive in military “prisons” should shock the conscience of any human being with a shred of morality and decency. Children are subjected to various forms of torture and abuse ranging from physical beatings, forced stress positions, solitary confinement, and sexual abuse. One of the advocates for Palestinian hostages was able to visit the Damoun “prison” today and visit the Palestinian women who have been indefinitely held captive without due process or trial there. There are multiple credible reports of psychological, sexual, and physical torture, solitary confinement, lack of feminine hygiene and menstrual care products, denial of visitation from family, and the inconsistent and reducing provision of food and water, which is also intentionally polluted.

These “military prisons” are concentration death camps. Women are being raped. Children are being raped. I wouldn’t be surprised if men weren’t safe from this sexual violence, either. I am begging you to save Rayan Hussam Shteiwi and every other Palestinian hostage this fate. No human being deserves this, especially a child.

Meanwhile, Rafah is being annihilated. Upwards of 80,000 Palestinians are still desperately trying to flee the area to a semblance of safety that does not exist. All humanitarian aid has been stopped for 3 days now. The people are already being starved to death. We are watching the mass slaughter directly with bombs and bullets and indirectly through the intentional starvation, thirst, and disease created by the apocalyptic conditions Israel has designed.

I demand that you: 

– Hold Israel accountable for a permanent, immediate ceasefire, their violations of the Genocide Convention, and gross human rights violations by any means necessary

– Call for the immediate end of Israel’s occupation and apartheid and support Palestinians in their fight for freedom and peace

– Secure the immediate release and safety of all Palestinians who have been abducted and held captive by Israel, including those whose indefinite detention began prior to 10/7

– Permanently end all monetary, diplomatic, and military aid given to Israel and enforce Leahy Law

– Reallocate all funds given to Israel and commit additional resources for ongoing humanitarian relief for Palestinians starting with immediately resuming funding of UNRWA

– Immediately withdraw all U.S. troops, military assets, and all other assets deployed throughout the Middle East and cease all actions that further escalate a larger regional conflict

– Pass legislation that voids all anti-BDS laws at the federal level

– Vote no on H.R. 7521 and any similar legislation proposed

While Telegram channels on their own are not necessarily credible news reporting, I have found the work Praxis Redacted has done consolidating both official news sources and unofficial citizen reporting (before it becomes breaking news) to be credible, accurate, and substantiated hours or sometimes days later by mainstream news.
