1/31 Petition to Biden & U.S. Congress

Nancy Pelosi’s recent statements accusing Americans advocating for Palestinian human rights as “Russian plants” or “from China” is not only racist, fear-mongering, it’s baseless and dangerous. I am appalled that a member of my country’s government would label constituents whose opinions she doesn’t agree with in such a manner. Calls for the FBI to investigate Palestinian human rights advocates falls lock-step with the other attacks on my rights. I’m not a “Russian plant” – no one could pay me to write to you every single day, especially with your completely ineffective and insulting responses thus far.

I write to you every day because every day I witness horrors beyond comprehension and want it to end. Today it was hearing the audio of a 911 call from a 6 year old girl named Hind. Her family was trying to evacuate as instructed. Their car was surrounded by Israeli tanks that soon fired and murdered her entire family. You can hear the heavy artillery fire and her screaming. She was the only survivor and remained on the phone with the operator for hours. Two brave paramedics went to try and save her- it’s been 2 days and no one has heard from them. Have you ever heard the voice of a child after that kind of trauma plead “Won’t someone come get me?”

How dare you label me and other Americans as terrorists or paid off foreign actors. We are demanding a ceasefire because we know this is the fault of our government as much as it is Israel’s.

I demand that you: 

– Call for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, the West Bank, and all areas the Israeli military is murdering or otherwise violating the human rights of Palestinians

– Secure the safe release of Mansour Schouman, a Canadian-Palestinian independent journalist and humanitarian worker recently illegally abducted by Israel in Khan Younis around 1/22 – 1/24 when he was evacuating to Rafah from the Nasser Hospital as directed to on a “safe route”

– Call for the immediate end of genocide, apartheid, and occupation, and support Palestinians in their fight for freedom, peace, and their human rights

– Call for the immediate release of Palestinian “prisoners” (hostages) held captive in Israeli military prisons

– Permanently end all monetary and military aid given to Israel by correcting our budget and enforcing Leahy Law

– Reallocate all funds given to Israel to ongoing humanitarian relief for Palestinians to help them rebuild, care for the sick & injured, bury the dead with dignity, and ensure all of their basic needs are taken care of

– Repeal all federal anti-BDS laws and pass legislation that voids all state-level anti-BDS laws

– Restore my right to free speech and the freedom of the press by condemning all discrimination or harassment for criticizing any government or political ideology (including zionism) and by doing everything possible to prevent future assaults to my rights, including governmental control and/or censorship of the Internet
