3/21 Petition to Biden & U.S. Congress

When I saw the multiple videos circulating yesterday showing U.S. trucks on the ground in Gaza hauling piles of rubble of Palestinian homes to build the “temporary aid port” in order to “distribute humanitarian aid”, I cried so hard it made me physically ill. When Biden announced this “aid pier”, it was already very clear that this was not meant to actually help Palestinians. The audacity to say “We are not waiting on the Israelis. This is a moment for American leadership,” when U.S. efforts did wait on the Israelis for being allowed into Gaza via land crossing, interrupting the limited flow of humanitarian aid trucks, is absurd.

1.1 million people in Gaza are now facing imminent death by the forced starvation and manmade famine of Israel, backed by my tax dollars. In the coming days, weeks, and months, if immediate, real action is not taken to address this, they will all die. As for the remaining people who haven’t yet been murdered via starvation by the time the “aid port” is constructed, Netanyahu continues to say the quiet part out loud when he said yesterday, 3/20, that this port should be used to mass deport Palestinians out of Gaza. This is what ethnic cleansing looks like. This is what genocide looks like. This is what my country’s complicity in these atrocities looks like.

I have urgent questions that require immediate answers from you, not just for me, but for the rest of the American people whose tax dollars you have been stealing for this genocide:

  1. Did the U.S. get permission from the Palestinian’s whose homes made up that rubble?

2. Had the bodies of those who died underneath been removed before the rubble was taken so they could be given a humane and dignified burial?

3. Why did the original plan for construction that U.S. army Brig.-Gen Brad Hinson outlined change to include using rubble of homes with dead bodies?

4. Why didn’t the U.S. trucks let across the border contain any of the humanitarian aid that is lined up and waiting at every border crossing but denied entry by Israel?

5. Why aren’t the U.S. controlled operations in Gaza that have the capability to remove rubble being used for search and rescue missions to try and save the lives of those still trapped underneath the rubble?

6. Before rubble was excavated, were any attempts made to locate anyone possibly still alive? If not, what measures were used to ensure the precarious structural integrity of rubble that creates pockets where people are trapped was not compromised?

*Why are you citing reports shared on Telegram?

While Telegram channels on their own are not necessarily credible news reporting, I have found the work Praxis Redacted has done consolidating both official news sources and unofficial citizen reporting (before it becomes breaking news) to be credible, accurate, and substantiated hours or sometimes days later by mainstream news.

Since mid-October when I began following the news about the genocide (and Praxis Redacted), I have not found an incident where sources cited or descriptions used were later proved to be false. I have every reason to believe the events cited below are true.

Most Telegram posts I link will be from Praxis Redacted, but those that are not will be labeled. All of the same disclaimers apply for content warnings and my belief in the credibility of the channels cited. This is a saved text template used across posts, it’s possible no sources outside of Praxis Redacted will be used or that only other channels are cited in this petition. It is also possible that other social media posts will be cited from other platforms, and if so, they will be noted.
